Meet Our Doctors
DR. H. SHANNON HICKS
Veterinarian
Dr. Hicks was born in Houston, Texas. He grew up in Alvin, playing sandlot baseball with Nolan Ryan. Dr. Hicks graduated from Alvin High School in 1962. He received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1968. Dr. Hicks operated a veterinary clinic specializing in equine medicine from 1968 to 1988. He treated both large and small animals until he opened Old Town Animal Hospital in Katy, Texas, in 1997.
DR. CECILIA CHEA
Veterinarian
Dr. Chea graduated in 2015 from the Royal Veterinary College in London. She is a dedicated veterinarian with a passion for providing exceptional care to both furry and human family members. With a household bustling with two dogs, two children, and a supportive husband, she understands the importance of compassion, patience, and multitasking. Her commitment to animal welfare and expertise in veterinary medicine ensures that every patient receives the highest standard of care. When not tending to her patients or spending time with her family, she enjoys outdoor adventures and traveling.
DR. RACHEL KNIGHT
Veterinarian
Dr. Rachel Knight was born in Clearwater, Florida and grew up in Houston, Texas. She studied Biology and Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University, where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in 2011 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2015. After graduation, Dr. Knight worked for small animal practices in both Baton Rouge, LA and Austin, TX before returning home to the Houston area in 2019. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, internal medicine and dermatology. Her personal interests include birding, yoga, hiking, and traveling. When she is not working, Dr. Knight enjoys spending time with her family, her dachshund Frankie, and her small flock of chickens.
Dr. Tori Carter
Veterinarian
Dr. Tori Carter grew up in the Rio Grande Valley where she found a passion for animals of all sizes through FFA and 4-H. She spent many years showing pigs, cattle, rabbits, and chickens. Since she knew she wanted to become an Aggie
Vet, she graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Science with honors from Texas A&M University, then she went on to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 2024. She is excited to join the team and welcome all pets!
Outside of work, Dr. Tori enjoys traveling with her husband and going on walks with her three dogs Callie, Mocha, and Nala.
